CS2 Premier Season 2 Ends
Valve has released a small update for Counter-Strike 2 on the night of July 14–15, marking the end of the second season of Premier mode. The announcement was made via Valve’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. With the patch, Premier mode has been temporarily disabled. No other changes were introduced in this update.
In a short but clear message, Valve summarized the season’s conclusion:
“Premier Season 2 has ended and has been temporarily disabled. Take a break, enjoy the freedom — and we’ll see you soon in Season 3.”
The return of Premier mode is expected with the launch of the third season, though no specific date has been announced yet. Typically, the break between seasons lasts anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on Valve’s development schedule and internal goals.

How to earn the season reward?
To receive the Premier Season 2 medal, players need to meet two straightforward conditions:
-
Win at least 25 matches in Premier mode during the season;
-
Have a visible rating (meaning enough matches played to establish a rating) at the time of the season’s end.
If both conditions are met, the medal is automatically added to the player's inventory and displayed in their profile. While it doesn’t offer any gameplay advantages, the seasonal medal is a respected cosmetic achievement within the CS2 community.
Premier Season 2 began on January 29, 2025, and continued until mid-July. It was initially planned to conclude shortly after the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, which wrapped up on June 22. In total, the season lasted nearly six months.
For comparison, Premier Season 1 in CS2 was significantly longer — it started back during the beta phase and lasted over a year and a half. In that sense, Season 2 was the first fully structured and consistent season under the now-established competitive ranking system.
Now, players are waiting for Season 3 to begin — one that may bring changes to matchmaking, possible balance updates, and new cosmetic rewards. Until then, it's the perfect moment to take a short break — or start preparing for the next climb on the leaderboard.
