Scam game with fake CS2 items appears on Steam
Counter-Strike 2 fans have discovered a new game on Steam that scammers used to deceive players during trades. A corresponding thread appeared on Reddit.
The game was released under the name Plumber's Legacy and was listed on the Steam Market. Scammers created items in the game by copying the names and thumbnails of actual CS2 items. This allowed them to trick users by offering what appeared to be a legitimate knife or other item, when in reality it was a fake being traded for a real one. The only way to identify the deception was by checking the game title linked to the item.

At the time of publication, Plumber's Legacy was no longer available on Steam. It’s presumed that the game was removed after receiving user complaints. Some fans believe that the scammers themselves shut down the title to cover their tracks.
