The rarest CS skin ever sold for $45,000
When you hear about skins worth tens of thousands of dollars, your mind probably jumps to the likes of the Dragon Lore, Gungnir, Howl, and other famous and coveted finishes. These skins are rare and beautiful, becoming symbols of the game over time. But the most unique item in CS was recently crowned — the MAC-10 | Copper.
Every CS skin has a wear rating — measured from 0 to 1 with several digits after the decimal. The lower the number, the newer the gun looks. The “Factory New” quality starts at 0.07 — at this level, wear is practically invisible. Still, the CS community is obsessed with chasing the cleanest possible float.
In May 2025, the rarest skin in the game was born. A MAC-10 | Copper, which usually costs just 15 rubles (less than a dollar), suddenly became the cleanest skin in CS history: its float was 0.0000000001. Yes, that’s nine zeroes followed by a one. Doesn’t sound like much? Well, that skin is now worth around $50,000. The odds of receiving a float like this are estimated to be one in ten billion.

The skin dropped randomly for an average player with less than 200 hours in CS. He received it as a weekly XP reward — no case opening or battle pass purchase involved. It’s likely the player had no idea at first that he just received the rarest skin in the entire history of CS.
At the end of June, the newcomer sold the skin to Arab collector Altair, whose inventory already features many rare items: a Karambit | Blue Gem valued at $1.5 million, and the world’s cleanest AWP | Gungnir. Reports claim Altair paid $45,000 for the ultra-rare MAC-10.
Meanwhile, the previous holder of the world’s cleanest float got unlucky. He bought an AUG skin six months ago for $50,000 and added five NAVI stickers worth another $40,000. Unfortunately, that skin is now just the second-cleanest in the world — and has likely dropped in value.
There’s no point in trying to roll a skin with such an insane float — the odds of getting a rare knife, gloves, or Dragon Lore are hundreds or even thousands of times higher. This kind of unbelievable luck is simply a reason to celebrate the good fortune of a CS newbie.
