G2 searching for Snax replacement, huNter- likely to become IGL
European giants G2 Esports have begun searching for a new player during the CS2 offseason.
According to multiple sources from HLTV and Croissant Strike, G2 are actively looking to replace Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski, with Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač expected to assume the in-game leader (IGL) role following a disappointing season.
G2 have already compiled a shortlist of candidates, with Kacper "xKacpersky" Gabara reportedly among their primary targets. The 18-year-old rifler has maintained an average rating of 1.15 since joining ENCE from Young Ninjas in October 2024.

huNter- stepping into the IGL role comes as no surprise. Back in September 2024, he revealed in an interview with James "BanKs" Banks that G2 had asked him to become the captain “at least five times” since he joined the squad. “But I didn’t want to accept it,” he admitted at the time.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov and huNter- were already responsible for the majority of calling on the CT side, allowing Snax to focus on his anchor roles.
G2 are now undergoing a roster overhaul after a frustrating season, during which they only showed promising form at BLAST Bounty 2025 Season 1 Finals and PGL Bucharest. The latter event marked m0NESY’s final appearance with the roster before his high-profile move to Falcons.
To close out the season, G2 played with Olek "hades" Miskiewicz as a stand-in, finishing 9th-11th at PGL Astana (where huNter- was absent due to visa issues), 7th-8th at IEM Dallas, and 9th-11th at the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
Álvaro "SunPayus" García and Eetu "sAw" Saha are reportedly on the verge of joining G2, having already bid farewell to HEROIC. The Finnish coach will replace Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, who was dismissed last week.
